The role of the AAMA is to generate greater public awareness of maritime affairs. It provides a focal point for people with an interest in maritime affairs, especially those in business, tertiary institutions, the marine professions and the public service who are concerned with any aspect of Australia’s maritime affairs.

- PACIFIC 2012, the International Maritime Exposition, is to take place at the Sydney Convention & Exhbition Centre, Darling Harbour, Sydney, 31 January - 3 February 2012.
The Australian Association for Maritime Affairs will have a stand in Hall 6, stand 6A15. Come and visit us there and collect your free full-size copy of the poster MARITIME AUSTRALIA 2011.
AAMA will also be conducting a seminar, "The Sea and the Environment - Opportunities, Constraints and Risks" in the Parkside G03 conference room on 1 & 2 February. Click here to see the full program.
Entry to the seminar is free but if you are not attending PACIFIC 2012 in any other capacity you will need to register as a "Trade Visitor" at www.pacific2012.com.au.
- National Land Freight Strategy: on 29 April 2011 the Australian Association for Maritime Affairs made this submission on the National Land Freight Strategy discussion paper/strategy released by the Minister on 22 February.
- Inquiry into Defence Procurement Procedures: on 15 April 2011 the Australian Association for Maritime Affairs made this submission to the Senate Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade References Committee.

Australian Maritime Safety Authority
